4) Do you offer free consultations?

Yes, our aesthetic consultations are free, but we do ask for a credit card number to hold your appointment at Duet.  If you do not keep your appointment or call to cancel within 24 hours, a charge of $100 will be applied to your account.  This fee can be applied toward product purchases, in-office procedures, or the surgeon’s fees.

5) How are you different from other Bay Area plastic surgeons?

At Duet Plastic Surgery, we understand that there are so many choices in the Bay Area.  We also know that choosing the right plastic surgeon for you is a very important and personal decision.

By choosing Duet, you benefit from having a team of two female Stanford-trained plastic surgeons who work with you to achieve your goals. Dr. Lim and Dr. Weintraub are known for their approachable manner and natural aesthetic, making what is often an awkward situation elsewhere into a comfortable partnership in your plastic surgery journey at Duet.

This unique partnership at Duet also means that you spend less time in the operating room, have less exposure to anesthesia, save on "fixed" costs like anesthesia and operating room fees, and benefit from the increased safety of having two surgeons during your procedure.

6) Do I really need surgery?

Dr. Lim and Dr. Weintraub want to help you find out what is best for you – in terms of results that you’ll be happy with, in a way that is safe and suitable for you and your life. As plastic surgeons, we possess the complete range of skills to perform everything from the simplest office procedures to full-body makeovers. We are also comprehensive physicians, so we can offer options other than surgery. The best way to get your question answered is to come in to Duet for a consultation so we can evaluate you personally and individualize a plan for you.

7) I’m not sure that my family will be able to handle taking care of me after surgery.  What can I do?

We hold staff privileges at several local hospitals, including El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Another option is our partnership with Ruth Lahde, R.N. of Under the Greenwood Tree.  Ruth offers a wonderful “post-surgical bed and breakfast” service in Foster City and has taken great care of our patients.

Another great service that our patients have enjoyed using is a personal concierge.  Laura at Busy B's is a fantastic resource for patients during their recovery period; she and her staff can attend to personal and home services (such as grocery shopping, meal delivery, prescription and medical supply pick up, housekeeping, etc.), allowing you to focus on your recovery.

8) Why don’t you have before and after pictures of your own patients on your website?

Out of respect for our patients’ privacy, we do not post our patients' photos on the internet.  We are very proud of our results at Duet Plastic Surgery, but we are not willing to risk misappropriation of our patients’ images.  We do have an album of photographs that you are welcome to look through in our office in Palo Alto.

9) Do you perform breast reconstruction?

Yes. We have had extensive experience working with breast cancer patients, helping them achieve their goals of natural-looking results.  As women, we offer a different perspective on breast reconstruction from many of the traditionally male reconstructive surgeons; for this reason, we definitely encourage any woman who is considering breast reconstruction to explore her options, in terms of male vs. female plastic surgeons.

There is a great deal of information surrounding breast reconstruction, and at Duet, we take the time to go over all of the details and choices available to women with breast cancer, and their loved ones.  The team dynamic that is unique to Duet is especially valuable when working hand in hand with the general surgeons, primary care physicians, oncologists, and radiation oncologists.
